About Nepal
Knowing Nepal as a country is very important and crucial before any of the foreigners want to start trip to this wonderful country. Nepal is a small mountainous country in the South Asia located in between the two giant neighboring countries of India and China. Nepal shares its border with China towards north, east and west while it has open border with India towards the south. Though a small country by geographical prospect, Nepal is very rich in its natural beauty and resources. This is the very thing that makes Nepal as the major destination for tourism from across the globe. Nepal boasts of several mountains that are above eight thousand meters of altitude including the world’s tallest peak of Mount Everest. Nepal is known in the entire world as the land of the Everest and this is also one of the many reasons why foreign tourists visit the country. Many come here for trekking in the Everest region and also for Mountain Expedition purpose. Trekking in Nepal is another popular activity amongst the visiting tourists as the itineraries like the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, Everest Base Camp Trek,  Langtang Circuit Trek, Upper Mustang Trek or the Dolp Trek are very much popular and famous here.
Nepal is divided into three geographical regions—Mountain, Hill and the Tarai plains. Tarai is the most populated while the mountainous region is the most least populated. Nepal has six major seasons and the weather condition of Nepal is sub-tropical by nature. The mountainous region remains cold most of the time while Tarai region is mostly hot. Nepal is a land of multiple culture, caste, tradition and ethnicity where people from different tribes stay here in harmony. Though Nepali is the main official language of the country, many other ethnic languages are spoken across the country by people from different ethnicities and castes. For an instance, Newari, Gurung, Magar,Tamanag people have their own traditional culture and languages and they have been practiced since a long time. This remains one of the features of the Himalayan country. Though previously a Hindu country, Nepal is now a secular country religion wise, where all the religions are equally observed and respected. The majority of Nepali people are Hindu.
A beautiful country when it comes to nature and its beauty, Nepal has also become a destination for adventure in the recent time. Adventure sports like paragliding, Ultra Light, Bunjee Jumping, White Water Rafting, have become very common and popular amongst both Nepali and international tourists as they indulge in the activities and experience thrill and adventure of different magnitude. Nepal is also rich historically as there are several temples and monuments which have been enlisted in the UNESCO’s list of world heritages. Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha, is another reason that makes Nepal known to the whole world. The Durbar Squares of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur, Bouddhanath Stupa, Swyambhunath, Pashupatinath Temple, are some of the monuments that are iconic in Nepal. All these things make Nepal as a major destination for tourism in the entire world and these very things are the assets of the country as they have been boon to the flourishing tourism in the country.
