Island peak climbing (6,183m) is one of the popular peaks for climbing in Nepal. It is located in the Everest region. This peak was first known as Imja Tse peak. Peake climbing in this particular peak has been one of the most loved and demanded among the travelers of Mount Fuji Adventure because peak climbing sport on this particular peak is combined with the Everest base camp trekking. Another reason why tourists choose this trekking is, the trekking to this area provides awesome views of snow-capped mountains lying around the Khumbu region including Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Nuptse (7,855m), Lhotse (8,516m), Lhotse middle peak (8,410m) and Lhotse Shar (8,383m) in the north, whereas, Mt. Makalu (8475m) in the east, Baruntse (7720m), and Mt. Amadablam (6856m) in the south and many more. The trip to this region is suitable to those who are energetic and physically fit and for those who want to have both trekking and peak climbing experience at the same time. Technically, climb Island Peak is considered to be easier than other peaks in Nepal for climbing, therefore, Island peak climbing trip is combined with trekking. The trekking or peak climbing trip to the Island peak climbing begins with direct flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the trail continues through Namchhe, Dinboche, Chukung, finally takes to the base camp and after having successful summit to the peak, you will return back along the same route to Kathmandu

Day01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)
As soon as you land at the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will complete the visa formalities after which you will be escorted by our representative to the luxury hotel where you will enjoy the welcome dinner and stay overnight in a hotel in Kathmandu. You will be briefed about Island Peak Climbing package by our team leader. You will also meet with other trekking members.

Day02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
You will be given half day guided city tour of UNESCO Heritage at Kathmandu by our licensed trekking guide. The tour starts with visit to the most respected Hindu Temple at Pashupatinath. You will also visit Nepal’s largest Buddha Monastery of Bauddhanath, world’s oldest stupa of Swayambhu and you will enjoy the sight of medieval palaces, courtyards and alleys at Kathmandu Durbar Square. Returning back to the hotel, the trekking gears would be checked by climbing leader.    

Day03: Fly to Lukla (2800m) Trek to Phakding (2652m) 40min flight 3hr trek
Leaving the hotel, we will leave for Kathmandu Airport from where we will take 40minutes of breathtaking flight through one of the most beautiful air routes in the world to Tenzing Hilary Airport in Lukla. We can get views of Gaurishankar, Langtang, Lhotse, Nuptse and other mountains throughout our flight. Island Peak Climb begins at Lukla. We will meet with other crew members and walk along the left edge of Dudh Koshi River to reach Ghat from where we will reach Phakding.

Day04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m) 6hr                                         
We will cross the dense pine forest and follow Dudhkoshi River to the small village of Jhorsale. We will reach the top of ridge in about an hour from where we can get the 180 degree view of Mount Thamserku. We can also enjoy the views of Mount Everest, Nuptse and Lhotse peaks in our journey. Crossing the Hillary Bridge, we will we will walk past Benkar and Monjo to Namche Bazaar.

Day05: Rest Day at Namche Bazaar
Taking rest in Namche Bazaar is advised to avoid High Altitude Sickness. The leisure time can be utilized to visit the amiable locals of beautiful Namche Village. We can get close up view of Mount Everest from Everest View Hotel. We can visit Khumjung Monastery in Khumjung village.        

Day06: Trek to Tengboche (3870m) 6hrs
From Tengboche, we will take short climb to Phunki and continue our journey to Tengboche. Tengboche Monastery in Tengboche is the largest Monastery in Khumbu region. Existing in between Sagarmatha National Park, the village offers views of Everest, Amadablam, Nuptse, Lhotse and Thamserku Mountains.   

Day07: Trek to Pheriche (4200m) 4-5hrs
We will visit Tengboche Monastery early in the morning before lowering down through colorful oak forest to the River. The trail escalates uphill to Pangboche village from where we will make our way to Phewriche. Pheriche is a small village located to the north of Pangboche on a riverside. We can observe helipad in Pheriche.    

Day08: Trek to Lobuche (4930m) 5-6hrs
We will enter the tranquil Imja Valley on this day. The trail drops down to the Lobuche River and stretches further to Dingboche. We will cross the beautiful Khumbu Khola Valley and arrive at Dusa. Walking further, we will reach Phulung Karpo from where we will enjoy the views of Pumori and other Mountains. Crossing the wooden bridge, we will reach Dugla and continue further to Chupki Lhara. The trail lowers down from the glacier to Lobuche from where we can get views of Nuptse, Pumori, Khumbutse and other mountains.

Day09: Trek to EBC (5364m) Back to Gorakshep (5170m) 7hrs
We will enjoy the views of Khumbu glacier and icebergs. We will crossThangma Riju and walk through the slippery path of Changri Glacier to arrive at Gorak Shep Lake. The trail proceeds along Indian Army Mountaineers’ memorials to Everest Base Camp (EBC). Crossing moraines and streams, we will reach EBC which offers views of Nuptse, Khumbutse and Pumori Mountains.

Day10: Trek to Kalapatthar (5545m) Back to Lobuche (4940m) 8hrs
From Gorakshep, we will walk through the steep trail which offers views of Lingtren, Changtse and Khumbutse peaks. We can also view part of Everest towards the east. The trail takes us to Kalapatthar which is one of the nest viewpoints in Everest. We will enjoy 360 degree view of Mount Everest and return back to Lobuche.

Day11: Trek to Chhukung (4730m) via Kongma La (5535m) 7hrs
The trail takes us through the Khumbu glacier to the base of Kongma La Pass. We will take difficult climb of Kongma La Pass and lower down to Imja Khola Valley. The trail drops down to Chhukung which is a summer village. The alternative trail is through Dingboche if you do not want to take difficult climbing of Kongma La Pass.   

Day12: Trek to Island Peak Base Camp (5200m) 3-4hrs
We will head south and follow the steep trail for about an hour before walking along the main line of valley. We will proceed through the trail located below the moraine of Lhotse Glacier. We will reach the crossroad from where the roads progress to Imja and Lhotse glacier moraines. We will arrive at Island Peak Base Camp where we will stay overnight.
 
Day13: Training on Island Peak Base Camp
This is the day on which we will practice climbing Island Peak. We need to follow the instructions of our climbing leader carefully. He will teach you the peak climbing techniques and the correct manner of using climbing gears. We will stay on the Base Camp coloecting the energy that is required for the climbing of Island Peak.   

Day14: Trek to Island Peak Summit Back to Base Camp (5600m) 10-12 hr
This is going to be a long and tiring day. We need to reach Island Peak summit before noon because heavy wind blows in the afternoon. 4hours of difficult climb along the 30 degree slopes will be enough to take us to the top of glacier. We will fasten the ropes and cross the crevasses to reach summit which offers the close-up views of Pumori(7161m), Lhotse (8516m),  Makalu (8463m), Lobuche (6145m), Cho Oyu (8201m) and other peaks and Mountains. We will descend to Island Peak Base Camp and celebrate successful climbing of Island Peak.

Day15: Trek to Pangboche (3985m) 6hrs
We will retrace our route through Khumbu Khola Valley and cross Orsho and Shomare villages. Alternative trail progresses through gompa in Upper Pangboche which is the oldest Gompa in Khumbu region. We can get views of Everest, Thamserku, Kongde ridge and Imja Tse River from Pangboche.   

Day16: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m) 5hrs
It is going to be the easy trek as we will We will lower down to Imja Khola before taking the escalating trail through forest of blooming rhododendrons to Tengboche. We will visit Tengboche Monastery and cross bridge over Dudhkoshi River to reach Dudhkoshi gorge. We will descend to Sansa and walk past the street lined with chortens to Namche Bazaar where we will stay overnight.

Day17: Trek to Lukla (2800m) 6-7hrs
We will cross few suspension bridges over Dudhkoshi River and walk through Phakding to Lukla. We will leave for Kathmandu only on the next day so we will have plenty of time to manage our pictures and packaging.

Day18: Fly to Kathmandu (1350m)
An early morning flight of 40minutes will take us to Kathmandu. You can spend the day as you like. Either explore Kathmandu or go for shopping in Thamel. Farewell dinner will be served in the evening. 

Day 19: Departure
This is the end day of Island Peak Climbing package. You will be assisted in last moment preparation and taken to TIA from where you will board the plane back to your home.
