Gokyo valley trekking is one of the frequently organized trekking packages in the Everest region, by Mount Fuji Adventure. This trekking is demanded among travelers because, they can explore the glacier lake called the Gokyo lake located at 4,750 m and mountain valley called Gokyo valley, have close and panoramic views of the snow-capped mountains lying from north to the south including Mt. Everest. Gokyo valley trekking is considered to be an alternative route to the Everest base camp. while having trekking to this trail you will have an opportunity to capture the scenic views of Mt. Everest itself, Mt. Lhotse , Mt. Nuptse , Mt. Cho Oyu , Mt. Makalu, Mt. Amadablam , Mt. Thamserku and many other mountains lying around, explore the unique culture and tradition of Sherpa ethnic groups residing along the route. Gokyo valley lies in the east of the Everest base camp. It is one of the view points to have close and magnificent look or views of Mt. Everest.

The Gokyo valley trekking begins from Lukla, and follows the trail along Dudhkoshi river, after spending two or three days, you finally reach to Namche bazaar and then continue your journey to the Goky valley and after making excursion around, you will finally return back to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu. It is only the temporary itinerary to have Gokyo valley trekking we are flexible to arrange your itinerary as per your time and budge available. Instead of going by flight you also can follow the trekking route from Bhandar, where can be reached with one day drive from Kathmandu to Bhandar and follow the classic route, after some days of walking you reach at Namche bazaar, where you take a rest for acclimatization and continue your journey to the Gokyo valley, and hike around Gokyo Ri, from where you can see the panoramic views of various mountains lying along including of Mt. Everest. If you are brave and love to have more adventurous trip you can also make trip around the Chola pass and extend your trekking up to the Everest base camp and Kalapathar region and make summit over the Island peak and have more adventurous trips, but think you have to be physically fit and assure yourself that you are ready to take any kinds of challenge you may face during this challenging trips.

Day01: Kathmandu-Lukla (2886m) - Phakding
We will leave hotel and drive to Tribhuvan Airport from where we will take 35minutes flight to Tenzing Hilary Airport at Lukla (2886m). We will be introduced with our porters and then the guide will give briefing regarding the upcoming Gokyo Valley trek. We will lower down from Lukla Airport to Dudhkoshi River from where the trail meets with main route to Namche Bazaar that exists above Chaurikharka (2713m). We will walk past Ghat village (2550m) and reach Phakding.     

Day02: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m)
We will leave Phakding and walk along Dudhkoshi River. Crossing the suspension bridge, we will reach Jhorsalle. We will also walk along Sagarmatha National Park and cross the forest of blooming rhododendrons to reach the summit of ridge which endows us with views of Kusum Kanggru (6369m), Thamserku (6608m), Mount Everest (8848m) and Nuptse (7879m) mountains. We will also pass through small villages at Benkar and Monjo to reach Namche Bazaar.

Day03: Rest at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization
Taking break from Gokyo Valley Trekking at Namche Bazaar is a necessary procedure. It helps us in proper acclimatization as there will be increase in an altitude in upcoming days. We will visit the nearby Sherpa Museum where we can see traditional Sherpa cloths. We can also visit Syangboche Airport that lies near Everest View Hotel. We can enjoy sunrise and sunset over Khumbu peak. Time permitting, we will visit culturally rich village of Khunde.  

Day04: Namche Bazaar to Dole (4040m) via Khumjung
Leaving Namche Bazaar, we will take the escalating trail to Khumjung. From Khumjung, we will climb to Dole which is the beautiful small village where cattle herding and agriculture are the major occupation of locals. We will walk past the crop fields to reach Dole where we will stay overnight.

Day05: Dole to Gokyo (4750m)
From Dole, we will climb to Machhermo. We will walk through the Ngozumpa glacier which is the largest glacier system of Nepal and it is also the second largest glacier of the world. We will get views of Everest, Cho Oyu, Nuptse, Thamserku, Amadablam, Kongde, Kusum Kanguru and other peaks on our way. We will reach Gokyo village which is located at the northern edge of Dudh Pokhari.

Day06: Rest Day at Gokyo and Excursion
Gokyo Valley trekking provides better alternative to classical Everest Base Camp Trek. Gokyo Ri Mountain and Gokyo lakes attract many tourists in this region. We will explore around Gokyo village. We will climb gokyo Ri on the next day.

Day07: Gokyo to Gokyo Ri (5483m) & Trek back to Machhermo (4150m)
The trail on 7th day begins from scenic gokyo village. We will take the escalating trail to Gokyo Ri which is one of the three best view points in Everest. It offers view of Mount Everest and other Mountains in Khumbu region. Later, we will descend from Gokyo Ri and return back to Machhermo where we will stay overnight.   

Day08: Machhermo (4150m) to Namche Bazaar (3440m)
We will leave Machhermo and retrace our route back to Namche Bazaar. We will lower down through colorful forest and cross Phuki thegna to reach Namche Bazar which is known as the capital of Sherpa land.

Day09: Namche Bazaar to Phakding (2652m)
We will take about 4hrs of trek to reach Phakding from Namche Bazaar. The trail is mostly descending. We will cross suspension bridges at several points and walk through forest of blooming rhododendron. We will stay overnight in Phakding.

Day10: Phakding- Lukla (2886m)
Crossing Dudhkoshi River, we will walk past small settlements at Ghat and Bhaisekharka to Lukla. Modest walk of about seven hours will take us to Lukla. We will stay overnight in lodge in Lukla where we pack our things and arrange photos in an album.

Day11: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu
This is the end day of Gokyo Valley Trekking package. We will take 35minutes of flight from Lukla to Kathmandu and stay overnight in a hotel in Kathmandu.
