Dhaulagiri Trekking
Dhaulagiri Region trekking is one another most popular trekking destination in Nepal. Mt. Dhaulagiri is the sixth highest mountain in the world with 8,167 m height. Trekking to Mt. Dhaulagiri region covers mostly the remote parts and in many parts there are not available of places for having rest. Therefore, one has be fully equipped with the needed equipments for the trekking, because of this, the trekking to Mt. Dhaulagiri region is considered to be one of the challenging trekking. Dhaulagiri region trekking is located at the western part of the country, the trail to Mt. Annapurna region trekking and Mt. Dhaulagri region is departed from the middle. The trail to Mt. Dhaulagiri region takes along the Kali Gandaki River, the deepest gorge in the world formed by Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna massive. This region is considered to be one of the remotest places but unique in terms of Mountain sceneries including of Mt. Dhaulagiri I, Mt. Dhaulagiri II, Mt. Dhaulagiri III, Mt. Dhaulagiri IV, Mt. Dhaulagiri V, Mt. Annapurna and other Himalayas lying around. The trail to Dhaulagiri region takes travelers along the glacier; many high passes full of snow, thick forest, up above the Muktinath pilgrimage and Kaligandagi valley, the hidden valley of Dolpo. This trekking is relatively considered to be exhausting; therefore, travelers are required prior experience of high altitude trekking.

Dhaulagiri region trekking begins by drive from Kathmandu to Beni by bus, from Beni, the trail continues along cultivated fields, forests and villages of various ethnic groups namely Gurung, Chhetri, and Magar etc. and after few days trip, you will reach at Italian base camp, from there you can have exciting views of Dhaulagiri I, II, III, IV and Dhaulagiri V, then you will head on to Dhaulagiri north base camp, and continue trekking to the French pass [5,240 m] and Thapa pass [5,155 m] then the trail takes down to Throng peak along the Kali Gandaki River to Marpha, a popular city of Mustang district and reach at Tatopani, subsequently, you will descend down to Pokhara and then finally return back to Kathmandu
